Question About Show How I Met Your Mother?

In a season 4 episode, Ted tells his sister that his TV cost $2,000. However in every episode I’ve seen of the show, the TV they’re watching is only like 17 inches/the size of a computer monitor. How is something so tiny cost so much? The show is usually really good about making these little things accurate.
